About Won Kim L.Ac

Won Kim L.Ac comes from a family that has practiced acupuncture for three generations. Having worked both with them as well as privately, Won Kim L.Ac has over 40 years of clinical experience. He studied acupuncture and have a master’s degree from college of Korean Medicine, Kyung Hee University in Korea and established a clinic in the United States in 1982.

In 1988, he collaborated with a doctor specializing in AIDS research, and studied T4 cells found in HIV positive patients.

Won Kim L.Ac has been a part of the Association of Korean Asian Medicine & Acupuncture of California (AKAMAC) for numerous years, and is also an active member of Dong Euh Nal Dal Acupuncturists, a group that provides free treatments for low income patients.

He has been a featured guest on a Korean radio program, Donguibogam on Radio Seoul for over a decade as an expert concerning acupuncture and herbal medicine as they relate to everyday life.

Our Philosophy

Kyung Hee Acupuncture & Herbs is an acupuncture wellness studio with 40 years of experience based in the Koreatown of Los Angeles, California, founded by Won Kim, L.Ac.
 
The goal of acupuncture is to provide balance and harmony for the whole person and treat the root cause of symptoms rather than just the symptoms themselves. “We don’t treat the name of the disease or symptoms only; we treat the underlying cause.”
 
More often than not, western medical services will provide treatments to alleviate symptoms but will fail to discover and repair the source of the problem. As a result, the underlying disease remains undiagnosed, and the patient falls into a cycle of repeated symptomatic treatment.
